How to Register Voters
Contact the county’s Board of Registrar's Office:
  • Tell them of your intent and learn any pertinent information.
  • Get Voter Registration Forms
  • Elect to have a deputy registrar to attend your drive or learn how to become one yourself (this is optional, but recommended.)
  • Learn how to properly store and handle completed Registration Forms and where to turn them in the next business day after they are completed.

The Day of Your Drive:

  • Set up your display.
  • Make sure there are no campaign materials of any kind.
  • Do not have any “rewards” for registering to vote.
  • Have pens, forms, volunteers, and other necessary supplies.    

    Frequently Asked Questions:

1. What are the requirements to register?

  • A citizen of the United States.
  • A legal resident of Georgia and of the county in which you wish to vote.
  • At least 18 years of age by Election Day.

2. Would there be any reason a person could not register?

  • Serving any sentence imposed by the conviction of a felony. 
  • Judicially determined to be mentally incompetent.

3. Do you have to register with a political party?

  • No, in Georgia there are no political party declarations.

4. What do you do if you move?

  • You need to re-register and contact your counties Board of Registrar's Office.

5. When is the last day to register for the next election?

  • You have to register no later than the fifth Monday prior to the Election Day.
